Abyss uses his wrestling experience in the writing room.
For the last sixteen years, Abyss has been part of Impact Wrestling through a lot of changes including the name of the company.and new owners. He recently took on a role backstage and in an interview with The Mirror, Abyss explained his position within the wrestling company.
"I’m still an active member of the roster and so you will still see Abyss and his esteemed brother Joseph Park from time to time. I’m using my experience as a member of the creative team, I’m on the writing team and I get to work with the young and hungry guys and girls. I am able to help them and try and get them to do things right and avoid some of the pitfalls and mistakes and that’s what I really cherish about this role," said Abyss.
Being an on-screen talent and part of the creative team has been a challenge for Abyss but he said he has worked on separating the on-screen character from who he is as a writer. In the rest of the interview, he discussed the landscape of professional wrestling in 2018 and the new "hungry" talent in Impact Wrestling.
