Adam Cole says Kyle O'Reilly is getting better.
After spending the last half of 2022 sidelined with concussion issues, Adam Cole is set to return to the ring soon, hinting that his first match back will be at AEW Revolution. The majority of Cole's career has been tied to Kyle O'Reilly as the two have been bitter rivals and best friends in multiple promotions.
O'Reilly has been dealing with his own injury problems and hasn't wrestled since June 8, 2022, but did appear on the August 3 episode of AEW Dynamite where he, Cole, and Bobby Fish turned on The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson). O'Reilly underwent neck fusion surgery in September and said he was dealing with a post-surgical issue in January.
Speaking to Dave Meltzer & Garrett Gonzales on Wrestling Observer Radio, Adam Cole was asked if he's spoken to O'Reilly and if he had an update on how he was feeling.
"I talk to him every day. He's doing good," said Cole. "He's doing really well. He's in a situation now where he's working so hard to make sure that he gets healthy as soon as he possibly can, but at the same time making sure that he doesn't rush back. Kyle was really banged up and it got to a point where he kind of couldn't take it anymore. I'm so glad that he got fixed and got healthy and is recovering day by day, every day. Early on in the process, I think he was so discouraged because there was so little that he was able to do, but now as time goes on and he's starting to be able to do more and more in therapy and rehab, you see the excitement and wheels turning of him already thinking about how he can't wait to get back. He's in good spirits and he has a lot of people around him that love him a lot."
It is unknown when O'Reilly will return to the ring.
Elsewhere during the interview, Cole detailed everything he went through as he recovered from his head injuries. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
