This will be the second 'Winter Is Coming' event held by AEW, the first coming last year on December 2. On that night, Sting made his surprise debut in AEW following a tag team match between Cody Rhodes & Darby Allin and Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks. That episode is also notable for its main event, which saw Kenny Omega defeat Jon Moxley for the AEW Championship thanks to a helping hand from Don Callis.
