AJ Styles provides an update on his injury.
Earlier this week it was reported that AJ Styles went home after WrestleMania to deal with what was being described as a hip injury. On his Mixer channel last night, Styles clarified the injury.
"I sprained my SI (sacroiliac) joint. Nothing too severe. I just need the muscles to ease up and treat a sprain like a sprain. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long to heal. I'll be back in action soon. You don't know the degree of the sprain."
Styles stated that the injury occurred at WrestleMania 35 when he took a superplex from Randy Orton. Styles would go on to win the match, defeating Orton with the Phenomenal Forearm.
The bout was perhaps most memorable, not for the action in the ring, but for the fans being unable to see the majority of the match. A light was kept on during the match, which blinded fans from seeing the contest. Randy Orton issued an apology on Monday on behalf of WWE. You can view his apology here.
