A new champion was crowned.
On August 17, 2024, AAA hosted Night Three of the 32nd edition of their annual event from the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. As one of the top matches of the event, Nic Nemeth defended his AAA Mega Title against Alberto El Patron, but he was not alone in the ceremonies.
Nemeth was accompanied by WWE Hall of Famer John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL), who sat in the crowd for the title match. After a vicious grudge match, the finish came when Patron finally caught Nemeth with a Low Blow as a payback from their match in TripleMania 32 Monterrey before locking in a Single-Leg Hook for the win.
After the match, Latin Lover congratulated Alberto on the title win, but Alberto did not buy the congrats from the AAA Head of Talent Relations. This was a trap, as Alberto El Patron attacked Latin Lover from behind before revealing that he was "The Eye" that had been terrorizing AAA backstage in previous shows. Head of Creative Konnan confronted Alberto about this, but this was all a rouse as Konnan hit a low blow on Latin Lover before hitting him with a trash can lid, aligning himself with Alberto.
If all of that was not enough, a masked man appeared in the ring and joined Alberto & Konnan. The mysterious figure was revealed to be none other than AAA President Dorian Roldan, who aligned himself with Alberto & Konnan as "The Eye", leaving Latin Lover as a bloody mess.
