Aleister Black provides the answer.
Two days ago "The Ominous Man From Amsterdam" put his NXT Championship on the line against Lars Sullivan in his first title defense at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II. Aleister was able to overcome the size difference between him and the big man and sent Sullivan to the dark-side by connecting a "Black Mass" to retain his NXT Championship.
Black is currently in the United Kingdom for the WWE U.K. Championship tournament tapings where he will be in tag team action alongside Ricochet as the two men will be taking on EC3 and Velveteen Dream. Prior to competing in front of the 'Royal Albert Hall' crowd the Daily Star spoke with Aleister Black and asked him about the perplexing tattoo on his back.
Black went on to explain the meaning behind the tattoo and what it stands for:
“I don’t really talk about the meaning of my tattoos, but I will give you that one," Aleister said. “The being on my back is Lilith, in some folklore she is the first woman to ever rebel against paradise. The reason she is there for equality, equality for every man and woman – which is the most important thing there is.” He continued, "I went big straight from the get go and all of them [tattoos] have meaning. Nothing goes on my body without thought."
Aleister Black became NXT Champion two months ago at TakeOver: New Orleans where he defeated Andade "Cien" Almas. Black shared that there is a great deal of pressure that comes with being NXT Champion but he is not backing down from the challenge.
“It’s a tremendous amount of pressure, but it is a pressure I gladly accept. It is an honor to be amongst a rank of such elite performers and wrestlers who have held the belt before me." He stated.
Aleister Black also discussed his thoughts on the British wrestling scene and how it is good to the point that WWE wanted to be a part of it. To read the interview in its entirety, click here.
