Bliss talks about the possibility of wrestling in Saudi Arabia one day.
The topic of women's wrestling in Saudi Arabia has been a major topic surrounding WWE since their ten year deal with the General Sport Authority of Saudi Arabia was introduced to the public. The company is coming up on their third show as a part of that deal and no women's matches have been announced for the show with one week left to go. Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported in March that there was an internal push to get women on the forthcoming Saudi Arabia shows.
Former 5-time WWE Women's Champion Alexa Bliss is hoping to one day wrestle in Saudi Arabia and spoke about the opportunity that Renee Young had this past November at Crown Jewel to call the action on the show. Bliss expressed those thoughts during her interview with Sky Sports:
"I would love to [have a match in Saudi Arabia]," she said. "I was very nervous at first with the match in Abu Dhabi because I didn't know how we were going to be received but it was actually incredible. The crowd was all for our women being there and having that title match. I had an amazing time and I would love to be able to be have a match in Saudi Arabia if given the opportunity. Women have never competed there in any aspect so it would be awesome to entertain there and break down barriers. It shows that our business is global. It was awesome for Renee to have that opportunity and it was such a huge deal," she said. "To be given that opportunity would be incredible. It's on a global stage at that point. It would be the first time women would be perceived in a certain light."
Alexa Bliss was pulled from the women's Money In The Bank Ladder match because she was not medically cleared to compete. Filling in for Bliss in that spot was Nikki Cross who teamed with RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch on the latest edition of WWE RAW.
