Andrade and Elias won their respective matches to advance to the next round of the King of the Ring tournament.
One day after the tournament kicked off on Raw with two first round matches, SmackDown Live got its two matches to close out the first week. In the first match of the night, Andrade pinned Apollo Crews while the main event saw Elias beat Kevin Owens after Shane McMahon made a fast three-count.

In the quarterfinals, Andrade will take on the winner of the Shelton Benjamin vs. Chad Gable match while Elias will face the winner of the Ali vs. Murphy match. The other two first-round matches remaining on the Raw side bracket are Ricochet vs. Drew McIntyre and The Miz vs. Baron Corbin.
