On the July 19th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Andrade El Idolo took on Carmelo Hayes in singles action in a match that was widely praised by fans. In the end, Andrade would hit his finisher, The Message, to defeat the number one draft pick.
While speaking to Byron Saxton backstage in a digital exclusive after the match, Andrade gave credit to Carmelo, noting that he has a good future ahead of him.
"I feel great. Now I feel tranquilo. So I am here to win. But Carmelo, congrats. Because he's good. I want to say that. He's a good talent. I know he has a good future. But he's still young. So I understand him because I was young like him. But tonight was my night. I am here, I am back here to win. I don't care who is in my face."
