Angle competed in his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. There, he lost to Baron Corbin. Angle has sporadically appeared on WWE TV since then.

On the August 18 episode of WWE Raw, Angle appeared in a video message to congratulate Edge on his 25th anniversary.
