Anthony Bowens: The Acclaimed Are The Uncrowned Champs Because We Can Bring Life To The Tag Division

Anthony Bowens looks forward to AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, where The Acclaimed will challenge Swerve in our Glory (Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee) for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

This bout will be a rematch from AEW All Out, where the champions retained the gold in a thrilling contest that stole the show.

In an interview with the Asbury Park Press, Bowens previewed the looming match and noted that he and Caster call themselves the uncrowned champion because they are confident that they can bring a spark to the tag team division.

"We don’t want to let the fans down. We’ve been calling ourselves ‘the uncrowned champs’ because we feel like we really can bring life into the tag team division and represent the company as champions," Bowens said.

Ahead of the title match on Wednesday, Bowens stated that this bout is a chance for The Acclaimed to prove themselves.

"This (is) an opportunity to show the world that the Acclaimed are more than just entertainers and goofy or funny guys that have a fantastically entertaining entrance. We can go in the ring, and we’ve been looking for an opportunity to prove that," Bowens said.

Strickland recently discussed Swerve in Our Glory's match with The Acclaimed at AEW All Out. You can check out his comments here.
