Luke Kurtis is getting intergrated into the business.
Despite only being four years into his career, independent standout Luke Kurtis has already appeared or done extra work for major promotions like WWE, AEW, TNA Wrestling, ROH, and the NWA. For him, it's all about getting his face out there and making relationships so people remember his name.
While chatting with Fightful during WrestleCade weekend, Kurtis explained this mindset, saying that he's just trying to build up his network.
"Yeah, I mean, absolutely. For me, it was really like a matter of building up my network. Now I know so many people in professional wrestling because of these opportunities. Because I go to Smackdown, because I go to RAW, because I go to AEW, because I go to TNA. I was just with TNA last night. Just showing my face and getting to know people because wrestling, it's relationships. Same thing with UFC, same thing with all fighting aspects. If you're a great fighter, they will put you out there. But if you're a problem, it creates problems for everybody and nobody wants to deal with problems."
Then, Kurtis said that he's obtained a bunch of knowledge from being around guys like Shane Helsm, Adam Pearce, Jamie Noble, and Abyss.
"So it's just a matter of getting integrated and becoming friends, really, with a lot of the other talent and other wrestlers in the business. The advice and the knowledge that I've gotten from being around guys like Jamie Noble, Shane Helms, Abyss, Adam Pearce, just so much knowledge that they dump into you. Like where you should stand, how you should do things."
Kurtis also went on to praise Triple H for taking a hands-on approach when it comes to putting together weekly TV shows.
"Triple H, the thing that I've noticed right away, ‘cause I was doing WWE work when Vince was there. But now that Hunter's in charge, one of the main things that I notice is that Hunter's in the ring with the talent every week. ‘Do this, do that, throw strikes like this, punch this way.’ Really breaking it down and putting his touch on it. Even as an extra talent, when I would do spots for them, if I had to do something in the ring, Hunter, the same thing, this is how you should do it. This is how you should lay yourself out."
