Athena wants to stand across the ring from some of the best.
Since coming to AEW/ROH, Athena has shared the ring with the likes of Miyu Yamashita, Hikaru Shida, Mercedes Martinez, Willow Nightingale, and Emi Sakura. As ot turns out, Athena wants to expand her reach and compete against some of the best performers from other promotions as well.
While speaking to the Sports Guys Talk Wrestling podcast for a new interview, Athena was asked to name some opponents that she would still like to face as a part of AEW's working relationships with other promotions.
“I have a lot, but if we’re talking about the Forbidden Door, I’ve never been to Japan, I’ve always wanted to go. I’m kind of a secret fan of Mayu Iwatani, that is someone I really wanna wrestle. There’s another woman in Stardom as well, her name is Thekla. There’s a couple of women from Tokyo Joshi Pro I would like to wrestle. Honestly, the sky is the limit, there’s so many phenomenal women out there that are just grinding and killing it day in and day out and I would just love to make magic with them.”
