Austin Aries will return to Ring of Honor for a match.
At the Ring of Honor 16th Anniversary, Austin Aries appeared to make his intention to win the Ring of Honor Television Championship known. At the time, Kenny King was champion as he had just defended it against Silas Young on the show.
Young would eventually defeat King in a Last Man Standing match at Supercard of Honor XII and would be challenged by Aries. On Wednesday, Ring of Honor announced Aries will face Young in a Championship match on May 13th in Chicago during the War of the Worlds tour.
The match will be Aries' first match within the promotion since 2015 when he had a six man tag team match. Before then, Aries was with Ring of Honor from 2004 to 2010 and held the World Championship and Tag Team Championship.
The Chicago stop on the War of the Worlds tour is the only one that will not be streamed on the Honor Club streaming service. It will be broadcasted on television at a later date.
