Austin Theory bests John Cena.
Austin Theory defeated John Cena in the opening contest of WrestleMania 39, retaining his WWE United States Championship in the process.
Theory tapped out to the STF, but the referee had been knocked down. With the ref down, Theory took advantage with a low blow followed by the A-Town Down to pick up the victory.

Theory has been United States Champion since Survivor Series 2022. This marked his sixth successful title defense.
