Becky Lynch sees the potential of Liv Morgan.
After stepping away from WWE in May 2020 following her pregnancy announcement, Becky Lynch returned to the ring last weekend, dethroning Bianca Belair of her SmackDown Women's Championship at SummerSlam. Last night on SmackDown, August 27th, Lynch was confronted by Belair, Liv Morgan, Carmella, and Zelina Vega; all looking to challenge The Man for her title.
It was Bianca who would emerge victoriously, last pinning Morgan to win the match and earn a future Championship opportunity.
The former Riott Squad member spoke with Kayla Braxton on the latest edition of Talking Smack and said that she is not discouraged by the result and is still focused on capturing her first title in WWE.
"100%. Do you want to know a little secret? When Becky left, I gave her a hug goodbye and she whispered in my ear, ‘When I come back, you're going to be champion.’ I've thought about that every single day, and she's back and I’m not champion. But I am so, so, so looking forward to proving her right, maybe not in her timeline, but I'm going to be champion, and I'd love to take it off Becky Lynch," Morgan said.
Liv is undefeated in her last three singles matches and hasn't been in a title match of any kind since October 2020 when she and Ruby Riott challenged Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the Women's Tag Team Titles.
