Universal Title Match Contract Signing, Belair And Banks On “The KO Show” Set For 3/12 WWE SmackDown

WWE has announced three segments for the March 12 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

First is a contract signing between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan. The two men will face off for the Universal Championship at Fastlane on Sunday, March 21. Bryan earned the opportunity to challenge Reigns when he defeated Jey Uso in a Steel Cage match last week on SmackDown. The winner of their title match will go on to face Edge at WrestleMania 37.

WWE also announced that Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks will be appearing on Kevin Owens' signature segment. The Boss and EST of WWE are scheduled to challenge for the Tag Team Titles at Fastlane on March 21. Their opponents, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler have successfully defended their belts twice recently, first on NXT versus Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez, and then again on Raw versus Lana and Naomi.

Beyond that, Banks will be defending her SmackDown Women's Championship against Belair at WrestleMania 37. Belair earned the opportunity when she won the 2021 Royal Rumble. She declared Sasha as her opponent on February 26th.

Finally, as announced last week, Big E will be returning after sustaining an injury at the hands of Apollo Crews.

Per WWE:

Three weeks after sustaining a brachial plexus injury at the hands of Apollo Crews, Intercontinental Champion Big E is back on SmackDown.

Relentless pursuit of E’s prestigious title has inspired Crews to embrace who he truly is, flaunting his family’s wealth, dominance and power to the WWE Universe. Crews demands an Intercontinental Championship rematch from The Powerhouse of Positivity and will not rest until the titleholder has fallen at his feet. How will E respond to Crews’ vicious new attitude?
