Big Bill Believes A Singles Run Will Happen Eventually, Loves Working With The Firm

Big Bill (formerly W. Morrissey) officially signed with AEW in August 2022 and was immediately put into a group with Stokely Hathaway, Lee Moriarty, Ethan Page, and The Gunns (Colten & Austin Gunn) as The Firm.

Morrissey showed during his run with IMPACT Wrestling that he could stand out as a singles competitor, but right now, he is enjoying his time with The Firm.

"It's going to happen eventually," said Big Bill in an interview with Comedy Store Wrestling when asked about a potential singles run. "It's a mutually beneficial experience right now for everybody in The Firm. Getting opportunities, helping each other out. As far as a singles run without The Firm, I have no idea, right now, we're just doing what we have to do to find success in AEW. Teaming up, whether that's tag team matches or helping each other backstage or whatever it is. We were put together for a reason and we're sticking with it right now. I don't know when a singles run will happen. Right now, I'm really enjoying working with Lee and Stokely, Ego [Ethan Page] is awesome and the Gunns are great."

It was noted that The Firm was initially tied to MJF after AEW All Out, but the ties didn't last long as they turned on him ahead of AEW Full Gear.

"Whatever was planned got kiboshed pretty quickly," said Big Bill, referencing the planned feud between CM Punk and MJF coming out of AEW All Out. "After that, we've been making the best of it. Stokely, myself, and Lee working together has been pretty good. What we just did with Jungle Boy and HOOK was really fun. The fans liked it and it did really good numbers, I don't know if I want to talk about that. It was entertaining and people liked it. It was a fun thing to do. There is traction there, for sure."

JungleHOOK defeated Big Bill & Moriarty on the January 11 episode of AEW Dynamite. The match did the highest quarter-hour viewership number in the 18 to 49 demographic.
