Big E Recalls Paul Wight Telling Kofi Kingston He Was Wasting His Career With The New Day

Big E looks back on Paul Wight not being a fan of Kofi Kingston being a part of The New Day.

When The New Day made their debut in 2014, fans were originally not a fan of the faction. For a period of time, they were largely booed and critcized. However, in the end, the faction would turn it around and now almost a decade later, are considered one of the most iconic factions in the history of WWE.

While speaking on the Undrafted Allstarz Sports Show, Big E was asked how Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are doing. E noted that while they are in Germany, they have become like brothers, particularly because of the dedication they had to making The New Day work.

E would then recall Paul Wight (formerly known as Big Show) pulling Kofi Kingston aside to let him know he thought he was wasting his career with The New Day.

"We had like Big Show was pulling Kofi aside, 'What are you doing with those two? You're wasting your career.' He came back later and apologized. Because sometimes people don't see the vision. They don't see what you see, they don't understand that." he said

Big E is currently still out of action after suffering a fractured C1 and C6 vertebrae on the March 11, 2022 edition of SmackDown when he landed on the top of his head following a belly to belly suplex from Ridge Holland.

There is currently still no timetable for a possible return to the ring for Big E.

Big E recently announced that the Our Heroes Rock short film "Bridges" will premiere at Urban World Film Festival in New York at the beginning of next month. You can read more about that here.
