BJ Whitmer's Victim Comes Forward Publicly, Pre-Trial Date Set

The alleged victim of BJ Whitmer's domestic violence has come forward with a message for survivors.

When BJ Whitmer was arrested in June 2023 and charged with strangulation and second-degree burglary, the alleged victim initially chose to remain anonymous. However, Jaime Hawn has now decided to come forward with a message for survivors of domestic violence.

Speaking with News 19 in Boone County, Kentucky, Hawn said that she understands why so many survivors stay silent.

“It’s physically altering when you’re having to make sure that your voice is being heard and if you don’t attend (court) and you put yourself in this vulnerable environment, it’s very possible that things won’t get mentioned to get that justice,” she said.

Hawn says she has cooperated with the defense team, despite the challenges of her character being called into question.

“Whether I feel safe or not - the ability to move forward from this? I can’t move forward because now I’m going backward about things that have nothing to do with what happened that day,” Hawn said.

Whitmer was indicted on charges in September. He had previously been a producer in AEW/ROH. He was immediately terminated from his position upon his arrest and AEW reached out to those affected following the incident to offer their support.

The incident report noted that officers detected red marks and bruising on Hawn's neck consistent with strangulation. Whitmer was held for eight days and released on a $25,000 bond.

Whitmer appeared in Boone County Court on Wednesday, December 6, where his pre-trial date was scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
