Booker T discusses Ricky Starks.
The former AEW star shocked the world by appearing on the February 11 edition of NXT, just hours after his reported release from WWE. Starks will now appear on Tuesday's edition of the show to begin his tenure with the company, as he'll officially sign a contract with the brand.
Much has been made of of Starks possibly getting his name changed, as WWE has not used the moniker in any official promotional material.
On the latest edition of his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T joked about the buzz surrounding the name change and said that he's interested to see if Starks can show him something.
“We had a very unexpected entry that showed up in NXT. He’s showed up, and he haven’t said his name yet, so I’m not gonna step on that. I do know this certain guy, this unexpected entry into NXT is going to be signing a contract tomorrow. So guys, make sure you tune into NXT and check it out. I’m interested, I’m very very interested because I said just last week, man, this guy needs to show me something. He needs to show me something.”
Booker went on to say that Starks showed him something on the promo side of things.
“You know, when the guy not named, when he came in, he showed me something from the promo side too, you know? I was like, wow the crowd seems to dig this kid. I’m really really interested to see exactly what he brings to the NXT.”
