Brandi Rhodes Updates Fans On Her In-Ring Training And Return

Brandi Rhodes hasn't wrestled since October 2020 as she was involved in non-wrestling storylines and took time away to deliver her child with Cody Rhodes.

Brandi has returned to television since delivering Liberty in June, but has yet to step back into the ring.

Speaking to Renee Paquette & Miesha Tate on Throwing Down, Brandi updated fans on her potential in ring return.

"I'm back in the ring and been training hard. Probably a lot harder than people think. One thing that is funny, a lot of people have been critical of me in the past as far as in-ring work because they don't know a lot about me and they just speculate. People just assume that 'Brandi is Cody's wife and he can just put her in whatever spot she wants to be in and she doesn't have to work hard and she doesn't train much.' Right now, I'm in the ring at least three days a week and in the gym seven days a week. I'm busting it as hard as I possibly can because I want to do well. I want to be an actual contender and myself, doing all the work, that makes me more confident that when I do get back in the ring, I know exactly what I'm doing and what I'm capable of. Hopefully, that translates and people will actually pay attention or watch. I've seen a lot of people lately saying how I'm taking time away from other women and stuff. That shows me you don't watch. If that's taking time away from women that shows that maybe we have one match a year and that's a bigger problem. That's not the case," she said.

While Brandi hasn't been back in the ring on television, she has continued her work behind the scenes as the Chief Brand Officer of AEW.

When asked what projects she's been working on, Brandi replied, "We've been having a lot of conversations with a lot of really cool organizations wanting to know more about us and maybe wanting to partner with us. We have then a phenomenal partnership with KultureCity and are continuing to grow in that partnership and trying to serve as many families that KultureCity touches as well. We are looking to expand the footprint and make that type of impact in as many areas as we can."

Though she wasn't on AEW television during her pregnancy, Brandi & Cody did film their reality series "Rhodes to the Top," which recently wrapped up its first season.

It is unknown if the season will be renewed for a second season. You can find TNT and TBS General Manager Brett Weitz' comments on a potential second season by clicking here.
