Although Braun Strowman is one of the biggest stars in WWE today, he first got noticed by Vince McMahon when he was simply a part of Adam Rose's Rosebuds.
When Adam Rose was competing on NXT and WWE, he regularly had a group of people dressed in an assortment of random costumes and Strowman was one of them. In a recent interview with Sam Roberts on Roberts' podcast, Strowman said McMahon took notice of him because of his size and that someone like him shouldn't be doing what Strowman was doing at the time.
“The only reason Vince McMahon ever knew who I was, ever saw me was because I was a Rosebud," Strowman said. "That’s how Vince saw me. He them goes, ‘Who is that and why the f*ck is he doing that?’ It was an opportunity they gave me and I gave it everything I had. I was over the top and that’s probably why I stuck out. The crazy thing, it really dawned on me recently, while we’re on the Rosebud gimmick talk, was how many Rosebuds are just absolutely killing it now in this industry?”
Rose would eventually go on and leave WWE, but Strowman went on to have plenty of success on his own afterwards. Since his time as a Rosebud, Strowman would go on to align himself with the Wyatt Family and then ventured on his own, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship twice. Strowman won the tag titles with Universal champion Seth Rollins on the August 19 episode of Monday Night Raw by beating Gallows and Anderson in the main event.
