Dakota Kai Replaces Mia Yim, Turns On Tegan Nox At NXT WarGames, Rhea Ripley Still Pulls Out The Win

Mia Yim is no longer competing in the women's WarGames match tonight.

It was announced on the pre-show show for NXT TakeOver WarGames, that Mia Yim was is the victim of an attack earlier in the evening and is no longer medically cleared to compete. It was announced later in the show that Dakota Kai will be taking her place.

Hulk Hogan: Cody Rhodes Is Doing A Great Job With The WWE Championship

Yim had initially been chosen over Dakota Kai when Rhea Ripley felt that she wasn't tough enough to compete in tonight's match

This news means that both the men's and women's WarGames matches will have  replacement entrants.

Over on the men's side, Matt Riddle was taken out of the match to be able to face Finn Balor one-on-one, a spot that was originally designated for Johnny Gargano but he is also out due to injury.

UPDATE: After replacing Mia Yim in the WarGames match, Dakota Kai shocked her team when she turned on her best friend, Tegan Nox when it was time for Dakota to enter the match.

Dakota went on a ballistic rampage and attacked the bad knee of her seemingly now-former friend, and when general manager William regal tried to pull her off, she would just push him away. Dakota would never enter the match, nor would Tegan. Leaving it at 4 on 2, with the advantage going to Shayna Baszler's team.

This would not matter as in spite of the disadvantaged, Rhea Ripley would find a way to handcuff herself to the reigning NXT Women's Champion and deliver a Riptide through two chairs, successfully winning the match for her team and pinning the champion in the process.

Fightful will have play-by-play coverage of the event tonight and everything going on this weekend in Chicago.
