Bret Hart Would Put Shawn Michaels, Curt Hennig, And Roddy Piper On His Mount Rushmore

Bret Hart comments on who he would put on a Mount Rushmore of wrestlers.

For many, Bret Hart is one of the greatest wrestlers ever. Emphasizing the technical aspect of professional wrestling during a time dominated by Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and many sports entertainers, Hart found a way to mesh the presentation of a great sports entertainer with the technical abilities that only he possessed.

During a recent appearance on the Attitude Era podcast, Hart was asked to name three other wrestlers who would belong on a Mount Rushmore of technicians alongside himself. Hart began his answer by putting over Mr. Perfect and would also give praise to Shawn Michaels and Roddy Piper.

"Well, Mr. Perfect, for sure. I think, off the top of my head right now, Roddy Piper. Just because it takes different things. Roddy was such a great performer, showman, and a great promo. Curt was the great worker. I think Curt Hennig was one of the greatest wrestlers ever. You know, I would say Shawn Michaels. Say what you want about Shawn Michaels, but he was a great wrestler."

There you have it: Bret Hart would put Mr Perfect, Roddy Piper, and Shawn Michaels on his Mount Rushmore. All three men could also be on his Mount Rushmore of greatest opponents. Hart would have many classic matches with each man and defeated all three in matches for the WWE Intercontinental Championship throughout his career.

Elsewhere in this interview, Hart spoke about the knockout punch he gave Vince McMahon after the 1997 WWE Survivor Series. Read his comments here.
