Brett Lauderdale Comments On PCO Smashing TNA Digital Media Title At The People vs. GCW

Brett Lauderdale says something should be surprising when it comes to PCO.

One of the most controversial moments at The People vs. GCW came when PCO took his TNA Digital Media Championship and smashed it with a sledgehammer. He also started to cut a heated promo about TNA before he was cut off.

Speaking on Game Changer Weekly, GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale was asked to comment on PCO's actions.

“PCO is a longtime friend of ours. He’s a longtime friend of GCW. I’m a big fan of his, personally and professionally. I admire him, and I have a lot of respect for him. So in most circumstances, I give him the benefit of the doubt or I trust him or whatever. What happened, what he ended up doing and what I thought he was going to do beforehand was a little different. I was under the impression that we were kind of…that we were assisting in a storyline for him, and I think maybe either…let me just be clear, maybe we are. I don’t know. Maybe there’s a work going on and I don’t know. I just don’t know. But what happened and what I thought was gonna happen were slightly two different things, and I thought we were kind of doing him a favor by letting him advance a storyline and returning to GCW at the same time, so I only kind of realized that it was more than that after the fact when I started reading reports that he may or may not have done that on his own. So I don’t know. It is what it is. I don’t know. It doesn’t seem like an end-of-the-world scenario here. I guess the only people that really know what the situation is are PCO and TNA. If I would have known exactly what was gonna happen, I probably would have either suggested maybe doing it a little differently, or I probably would have reached out to TNA to make sure that they were in on it. But again I give PCO the benefit of the doubt, and I respect him as a person and a performer, so I really tonight we were kind of more doing him a favor than assisting in anything that would have been over the line. Again, I don’t even know. Maybe we did assist them in a storyline. I honestly don’t know. I don’t know if this is something that’s gonna play out later. I was just happy to have him back on the GCW show, and whatever. It was cool to see him," Lauderdale said.

Lauderdale was then asked whether he heard from anyone in TNA, and he noted that he did not. He said that he felt like someone would have reached out if it was a major issue. Lauderdale also reiterated that he thought it was possible that there was some kind of storyline going on.

"No. I know a lot of the people at TNA, so I feel like I would have been contacted if there was any major issue that would have been on us or if they had questions about it. That’s why I think maybe there is still a storyline going on with it because I feel like maybe if there wasn’t, after the fact, they would have said, ‘Hey, what happened?’ "I can tell you one thing that’s 100% true. PCO is crazy, okay? PCO is actually crazy, and he’s been crazy since the day I met him, so I mean he’s crazy. I know that, and TNA knows that. So nothing should be surprising when it comes to him," Lauderdale said.
