Brett Lauderdale On GCW: We Write Our Own Rules, We Do Things The Way The Fans Want To Do It

Brett Lauderdale explains why GCW is different.

GCW is often regarded as the biggest independent wrestling promotion in the world. In recent years, the promotion has ramped up their event schedule, even hosting 91 total shows in 2022. Before the pandemic, the company was only putting on around 30 events per year.

The promotion's roster is huge and often spotlights up-and-coming stars like Alec Price, Cole Radrick, Jordan Oliver, and Marcus Mathers.

While speaking to Ashbury Park Press for a new interview, Lauderdale explained why GCW is different from any other independent or televised wrestling show.

“I think of it as more than going to a wrestling show, I think of it as an experience. It’s different than any other independent show or TV show. We don’t have a script so to speak, we have our own flow, our own way of doing things. More laid back in terms of just the rhythm of a show. Wrestling has all these unwritten rules and written rules, do it like this because that’s how it’s always been done. We write our own rules, we do things the way they want to do it and it resonates as our show unfolds. Our characters connect with the audience, they thrive off it. That makes it a highly enjoyable experience. We are all in it together.”

On Saturday, November 23, GCW will host their big 'Dream On' event at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
