Bron Breakker will defend the NXT Championship at NXT Vengeance Day.
On the January 10 episode "New Year's Evil" episode of NXT, Breakker defended the gold against Grayson Waller. Waller previously earned a title shot at NXT Deadline by winning the Iron Survivor Challenge. The two stars have been feuding ever since, and they finally clashed on Tuesday.
In a hard-fought bout, technical errors were the story of the match. Breakker crashed into the turnbuckles, and the impact caused the ropes to break. The ring crew repaired the damage, but a few minutes later, the ropes cost Waller the match. The challenger climbed to the top rope, but the turnbuckle snapped again. Waller tumbled to the floor, and the referee counted him out. As a result, Breakker won the match and retained.
Later in the show, Shawn Michaels announced that Breakker will defend the title against Waller in a Steel Cage Match at NXT Vengeance Day on February 4.
