Bruce Prichard Explains WWE Creative's Thought Process About Giving Carlito His Own Talk Show

Carlito's cabana!

Former WWE United States and Intercontinental Champion Carlito provided plenty of moments for viewers who were able to see him during his time in the sports-entertainment company. Besides spitting chewed up pieces of apple in people's faces, another signature of Carlito was his 'Carlito's Cabana' talk show where he would invite fellow wrestlers to chat and the majority of the time he'd end up insulting them or the set would get torn apart because of a brawl between Carlito and his guest.

Former WWE creative writer Bruce Prichard recently spoke about Carlito on an episode of 'Something To Wrestle' on-which he shared some details about the creative team wanting Carlito to have his own talk show. Prichard stated that there were ideas being tossed around about it and Carlito being able to hold his own on the 'Piper's Pit' with the late WWE Hall Of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 21 showed creative that he could handle having his own talk show.

“By that time [WrestleMania 21] we had a pretty good idea as a different way to expose him is to do the set piece with him and we thought that, ‘Okay he can handle this’ and it would be a different way. He was the right size, he wasn’t too big so that he wasn’t going to dwarf the other guys plus he could get his heat on the microphone so, I think that before we even got to WrestleMania we had been talking about doing this segment with Carlito." Prichard explained.
