Bryan Danielson is moving on.
After the opening of AEW Dynamite featured a announcement regarding a tournament to crown a new AEW World Champion, the first advancement in said tournament has occurred. Bryan Danielson was able to defeat Hangman Adam Page in a first round matchup, meaning he will move on to face Chris Jericho on the September 14 Dynamite in a semi-final of the tournament. Before the title was vacated earlier tonight, CM Punk had defeated Jon Moxley to capture the belt at AEW All Out this past Sunday. The title win followed Punk's loss of the belt, which took place on the August 24 edition of Dynamite when he lost the AEW World Title Unification Match to Jon Moxley. Punk, along with many other AEW talent, are reportedly currently suspended from the company following the reported brawl backstage following the All Out press conference.
