Cain Velasquez Arrested And Booked For Attempted Murder

Cain Velasquez has been booked.

NBC Bay Area reports that San Jose police are investigating a shooting incident involving former UFC Heavyweight Champion and WWE superstar Cain Velasquez that happened on Monday, February 28, near Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue in Morgan Hill.

TMZ reports Velasquez was arrested and booked on an attempted murder charge.

San Jose Police Media Relations confirmed the booking.

Police have not released the motive or circumstances as they are still being investigated but said one man was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting was reported at 3:14 p.m. PT.

Santa Clara County Jail records show Velasquez was booked on February 28 with no bail set. A court date is listed for March 2.

Velasquez last fought in MMA on February 17, 2019 when he lost to Francis Ngannou by KO. He joined WWE in October 2019, wrestling only a couple of matches before he was released by the company in April 2020. He last wrestled at Triplemanía Regia II in December 2021.
