Carlito Comments On Appearing On 1/2 NXT, Says LWO Will Hold The Fort Down Until Dragon Lee Returns

The LWO celebrates their victory.

Carlito took Dragon Lee's place at NXT New Year's Evil on January 2. The SmackDown star teamed up with Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro to face Damon Kemp, Myles Borne, and Drew Gulak of the No Quarter Catch Crew. Lee missed the show due to visa issues. Carlito proved to be a successful substitute, as the LWO scored the win.

In an NXT Exclusive, the LWO discussed their victory. Joaquin Wilde noted that people thought the LWO was down and out, but they proved everyone wrong.

"They thought the LWO was down and out at the end of 2023. They thought we were finished. But we’re back at NXT, new year, new energy, and we got the win," Wilde said.

Cruz Del Toro chimed in by stating that the LWO missed Dragon Lee, but they had fa member of the family take his place. Carlito stated that when the LWO lost someone, they gained somebody else, and they would hold down the fort until Lee returned.

"That’s the thing about the LWO. We lose a guy, we gain a guy. Dragon Lee, I know he’ll be back soon, but until then, we’re gonna hold the fort down, and that’s cool," Carlito said.

Fightful Select first reported that Carlito was Lee's planned replacement.
