Carmelo Hayes speaks highly of Baron Corbin.

Hayes and Corbin clashed several times in NXT, and they also faced each other in the first round of the 2024 King of the Ring tournament after Hayes moved to WWE SmackDown. Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Carmelo Hayes commented on the releases and noted that it felt like survivor's guilt. He noted that he hated to see people get released. Hayes then shared his thoughts on Corbin specifically.

"Listen, Baron was one of the people that actually took a liking to me, and took me under his wing. He did so much for me, he helped me so much, he gave me so much advice. Not just wrestling, life advice, money advice, so many things. I’m forever indebted to Baron Corbin – super talented, and I hate to see him go. That was one of those ones that really kinda hurt, seeing that, because believe it or not, me and Baron were pretty close, pretty tight. Everybody loved Baron," Hayes said.

During the interview, Hayes also commented on representation in WWE. Click here to see what he had to say.
