Charlotte has ended Asuka's impressive streak.
New Orleans continues to see streaks be broken. At WrestleMania 30 four years ago the fans inside of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome witnessed The Undertaker's WrestleMania undefeated streak come to an end and four years later they have witnessed another streak end.
"The Empress Of Tomorrow" Asuka joined the WWE in 2015 and it would not be too long before she got her hands on championship gold. What many may not have predicted was that she would become the longest reigning NXT Women's Champion of all time and go on to be undefeated for nearly three years. In January of this year Asuka stood tall as she won the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match and a month later, she made her decision regarding what champion she was going to challenge as she appeared at the SmackDown Live exclusive PPV 'Fastlane' and issued the challenge to the current SmackDown Live Women's Champion Charlotte Flair for a match at WrestleMania 34.
The two titans clashed tonight at WrestleMania for the title as it was Asuka's undefeated streak versus Charlotte's championship.
After a back and forth exchange throughout the entire bout Charlotte trapped Asuka in her signature "Figure-8" leg-lock and in a shocking and arena-silencing moment, Asuka could no longer take the pain as she tapped out and relinquished her two-plus year undefeated streak.
Fightful does have live on-going coverage of WrestleMania 34. There will also be a post-WrestleMania podcast immediately after the show closes.
