WWE is bringing back big names for Crown Jewel on Nov. 2. But Chris Jericho won't be one of them.
Responding to a fan tweet wanting Jericho to appear in the World Cup, Jericho declined the invitation.
More than anything, logistically, it wouldn't work. Crown Jewel is scheduled for Nov. 2 in Saudi Arabia. Jericho is currently booked to wrestle EVIL on Nov. 3 at NJPW Power Struggle in Osaka, Japan on Nov. 3. Factoring in flight time (roughly 14 hours) and time change (Japan is six hours ahead), there's no realistic scenario where Jericho could be at both shows.
Jericho did appear at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia back in April.
While Jericho won't take part in the WWE World Cup, four of the top superstars in the last decade have already qualified. John Cena, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Orton make up half the World Cup field thus far. Four more men will qualify in the coming weeks. Along with the World Cup, Crown Jewel marks the in-ring return of Shawn Michaels.
