Chris Jericho: CM Punk Returning To WWE Doesn't Surprise Me

Chris Jericho comments on CM Punk returning to WWE.

Hell froze over at WWE Survivor Series when CM Punk made his return to the promotion nearly a decade after he walked out. Punk was away from wrestling from 2014 to 2021 when he returned to AEW. He spent two years in AEW, but was fired following a backstage incident at AEW All In 2023 with Jack Perry.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Chris Jericho weighed in on Punk making his return to WWE.

"I mean it doesn't surprise me. I mean it’s the Vince attitude like if you can make money with somebody then you bring them back. He brought back the nWo, he brought Bischoff in. Yeah, and Vince isn't in charge. But Triple H learned from Vince once again and the fans, keeping the fans entertained and happy man look, he came back and it was the highest viewed social media segment that they've ever had. So once right out of the gate, it was a benefit to them. So it didn't surprise me," he said.

Jericho and Punk worked together in WWE, but did not clash in AEW.

Jericho has stated that he would have liked to have a match with Punk in AEW.
