Chris Jericho looks forward to facing Samoa Joe again.
Heading into the July 10th episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho and The Learning Tree had been feuding with Samoa Joe, HOOK, and Katsuyori Shibata for several weeks. Jericho faced Joe in a Stampede Street Fight on July 10th and put him through a wall while on a forklift. Joe has been absent ever since, but The Learning Tree has continued to feud with Shibata and HOOK.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Chris Jericho discussed working with Samoa Joe.
“I don’t think you’ll ever find anybody who loves wrestling more than me. I love doing this, and I love the chance to wrestle Joe. We had two matches on Raw in 2017, and if my recollection is correct, one of them was about three minutes long with a bullsh-- DQ finish. Our Stampede Street Fight was literally our first proper match. It reminded me of being in the ring with The Undertaker. We’d been in the wrestling business for decades, but we’d barely touched. So we decided to do something together. F------ A man, Joe is great. I can’t wait to continue the story," Jericho said.
AEW announced that Samoa Joe would be out indefinitely due to the injuries he suffered in his match against Chris Jericho.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Samoa Joe will return to AEW television.
