Chris Jericho is confident that AEW will deliver when it comes to their television deal.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Jericho revealed that a big reason why he signed with AEW was due to their potential television deal.
"I wouldn't have gone to All Elite if there wasn't a strong TV deal on the table and being worked on. There's a couple on the table that I know of and both of them, I'm like, 'Wow.' When it's announced, if it's one of those two, you'll go, 'That's what they need.'"
AEW was reportedly in talks with Time Warner to possibly bring wrestling back to TNT or TBS, but as of now, no television deal has officially been announced.
While a television deal will boost the profile of AEW, Jericho believes that his signing with the company already shows that they are ready to make an impact in the wrestling industry.
"By me joining the company, fans and wrestlers go, 'Holy shit, this is the real deal. If Jericho went there, this is real,'" said Jericho. "A lot of people probably don't know Kenny or Cody or the Bucks. We know them, but your average fan doesn't. And your guy in WWE making a decent living but thinks they can do better now goes, 'Wow, If Jericho can go there. I can go there too.'"
During his post-media scrum at the AEW Rally, Cody Rhodes revealed that they "held some things back" from being announced at the rally as to not overshadow a major event like the signing of Chris Jericho.
