Chris Jericho was ready to go to battle against Kenny Omega in singles competition.
AEW went to Winnipeg for the March 15 episode of AEW Dynamite in a homecoming for two of its biggest stars; Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho.
Omega and Jericho were featured on the show in a trios bout with Omega teaming with The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) while Jericho teamed with Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia to face House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, & Brody King) for the AEW Trios Titles in a triple threat match.
Speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Jericho claims that he pitched Jericho vs. Omega in a singles match for the Winnipeg show.
"We went to Winnipeg, Manitoba, I pitched Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho. Couldn't get the match, you know why? Trios. Me, Danny, and Sammy had to beat his stupid ass, but still. No singles match, 'Kenny is in a trio.' What are you talking about? This is Kenny Omega," said Jericho.
