Does Vince McMahon know about Chris Jericho's upcoming match against Kenny Omega?
Jericho hinted at just that. He recently spoke with Jim Ross on his podcast on the subject, and seemed to indicate that McMahon knows about the match, saying that he wouldn't do anything to ruin that relationship.
“You know how smart I am throughout my career, and you know the relationship I have with Vince, and I would never jeopardize that, or give him any nasty surprises” Jericho said. “So, I’ll just leave it at that.”
It is certainly interesting, however, that Jericho would take this route and sign for a match with another promotion. He hasn't worked for New Japan since the late nineties, and hasn't worked a match outside of WWE since he joined the promotion in 1999, leaving WCW. There also does seem to be a rift between Jericho and WWE at the moment as they rejected his offer to bring NXT talent as part of his upcoming cruise.
Negotiations had been going on between Jericho and New Japan since last summer, where through Don Callis, who went to Kenny Omega, who went to New Japan officials, were able to iron out a deal after a couple of weeks of negotiating.
