CM Punk is currently more interested in championship gold, but he's not about to pass up the opportunity to re-spark old rivalries and wrestle John Cena or The Rock if the opportunity comes his way.
CM Punk said on his first Monday Night Raw appearance after returning to WWE at WWE Survivor Series 2023 that he was more interested in making money than he was in making friends. He has since gone on to make new enemies out of the likes of Drew McIntyre and Solo Sikoa while also competing in huge money-making matches such as the main event of the debut of WWE Raw on Netflix where he defeated Seth Rollins.
Speaking to the media on the WWE Raw on Netflix post-show, Punk was asked about potentially wrestling The Rock and John Cena. Obviously, he has a history with both of those men and says he wouldn't turn down the payday for facing either of them. Still, he's more focused on winning championship gold right now.
"I think I want gold around my waist, but those two names come with big fat paychecks, so I’m not going to say no to it. It could be interesting. I wouldn’t say no to it. I’m into the big high-pressure money situations. That’s when I come alive. I definitely owe The Rock. I definitely owe John. I would welcome both of them with open arms. I saw John, passed him in the hallway, he looked a little tired and looked like he needed to Go To Sleep. I’m sure I’ll see him in Indianapolis."
Indianapolis is the site of the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble. John Cena officially declared for the titular Battle Royal during his appearance on the Monday Night Raw debut on Netflix. Punk has yet to officially declare but has mentioned a couple of times that he would like to win the match.
