Cody Rhodes: The Rock Is Still Electrifying, CM Punk Is Great; That Doesn't Bother Me, I'm Not Flinching

Cody Rhodes is very aware of what stands in his way on his Road to WrestleMania 40. That's not going to stop him from doing the work.

In a new interview with Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso, Cody Rhodes addressed the recent returns of both The Rock and CM Punk as The Road to WrestleMania heats up in the build-up to the WWE Royal Rumble.

Rhodes says that while both of these legends are great, he is not flinching nor shying away from his original mission upon his own return to WWE.

“The Rock is The Great One–he’s still electrifying,” said Rhodes. “CM Punk is one of the greatest stars in the history of wrestling. I know what I’m up against. Look at the roster–it’s loaded with stars. But that doesn’t bother me. I’m not flinching. I’m not rooting against anyone else, I’m just working to make it happen.”

Cody Rhodes also says that he knows that the run he's on is magical, but no run lasts forever.

“No run lasts forever,” said Rhodes. “I know that. I’ve seen that. So I’m savoring every moment–and I’m working toward accomplishing what’s never been before.”

Ever since he failed to defeat Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39. Cody Rhodes has consistently stated that the mission remained the same and he planned on defeating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40.

However, Paul Heyman insists that there is no man around, The Rock included, who can defeat Roman Reigns. Read Heyman's most recent comments here.
