Cody Rhodes Says He Was Offered '15 Times More' To Return To WWE Than Previous Run

Cody Rhodes left WWE in 2016 after being frustrated with the creative direction as Stardust. Rhodes went on to become arguably the top name on the independent scene, and helped start AEW with Tony Khan, The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson), and Kenny Omega.

In 2022, Cody announced he would be leaving AEW, paving the way for a return to WWE.

Before his return was official, Cody met with Vince McMahon, who flew to meet Cody at his house.

"Really old school. Scribbled on a piece of paper the amount of money the contract would be for and just slid it across, which was unnecessary," Cody recalled on The Flagrant.

Asked how much money was offered, Cody said, "I can't tell you exactly how much it was. I can tell you it was 15 times more than what I had been making in WWE in the first run."

Cody officially returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 as the mystery opponent for Seth Rollins.

Elsewhere during the interview, Cody commented on his "slight tussle" ahead of All In. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
