Jey Uso sizes up Cody Rhodes in Memphis, Tennessee, and then they teamed up against The Bloodline.
Jey Uso kicked off the February 7 WWE Friday Night SmackDown episode with a celebratory YEET, followed by an encore YEET. Once that was all out of the way, Uso recapped his Royal Rumble victory and called out Cody Rhodes, the WWE Champion.
Cody Rhodes provided an update on his health following his violent Ladder Match against Kevin Owens at the WWE Royal Rumble. He said his doctor informed him that he had a hip out of alignment and fluid built up in his elbow, but he had to go to WrestleMania and win to feel complete in his championship run.
Jey Uso made it clear that he had a decision to make. Cody Rhodes said they've been lucky enough to have many positive moments together, including winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. Still, if Uso chose to fight him, they should have a drink while hanging out on Beale Street because it would be the last time they had any fun together.
Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga interrupted their moment. Fatu said it was time for the WWE Championship to return to his family, but it sure wouldn't be Jey Uso who brings it back to them. This led to a brawl and the subsequent announcement of a tag team match for later in the show.
