Cruiserweight Title Change At Royal Rumble

Neville, the King of the Cruiserweights now has the crown to go along with his title.

On a night that already saw Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows defeat Sheamus and Cesaro to become the new RAW Tag Team Champions, Neville defeated Rich Swann via submission at the Royal Rumble to become the fourth WWE Cruiserweight Champion since the division was reintroduced into the company.

The new champion had been airing his grievances as he was not considered a part of the Cruiserweight Classic, the start of the Cruiserweight division and the WWE United Kingdom Tournament, where Neville still appeared on the second day where he had a match against Tommy End. He had been on a long winning streak since appearing at Roadblock: End of the Line to seemingly congratulate Swann on his title win against former champions Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins, only to attack him post-match.

This is Neville's first title since being called up from NXT where he holds the second-longest reign as NXT Champion at 287 days.
