The leader of "Team Kick" to be challenging for the PROGRESS Women's Championship?
Yesterday afternoon pictures made the rounds on social media that came from those in attendance at the NXT show at the 'Download Festival' in Donington Park. There were pictures of NXT talent 'Tegan Nox' (Nixon Newell) laying on the ground appearing to be grabbing her knee. There were also a number of tweets from those in attendance who noted that Nox may have re-injured her knee.
The 23-year old WWE talent signed with the company in April of 2017 but she tore her ACL which kept her out of action for a full year. Nox recently returned to in-ring action two months ago and has been teaming with NXT star Dakota Kai on live events and on the Florida circuit. The incident at the 'Download Festival' brought a scare that many thought was another knee injury. Nox went on to her personal Instagram page and thanked the fans for being an awesome crowd and did not make mention of the rumored injury she suffered in this particular post.
Tegan Nox was also slated to challenge Jinny today for the PROGRESS Women's Championship at 'Chapter 71'. Nox did make an appearance on the show but she was not able to compete. Nox may have not been able to wrestle but she did come with a good friend of hers who was ready to step into the ring;"The Captain of Team Kick" Dakota Kai.
The co-founder of PROGRESS, Jim Smallman noted on Twitter in a response to a question about whether Nox was injured or not and he shared that she is injured but it is minor.
