Dakota Kai won a spot into next week's ladder match to crown a new No. 1 contender to the NXT Women's Championship.
Kai ended up winning a gauntlet match, last eliminating Shotzi Blackheart to be a part of the ladder match taking place on the April 8 episode of NXT. The match started with Blackheart picking up victories over Deonna Purrazzo, Xia Li, Aliyah and Kayden Carter before ultimately losing to Kai.

With the win, Kai now joins Chelsea Green, Tegan Nox, Candice LeRae, Mia Yim and Io Shirai in the ladder match. The current NXT Women's Champion is Rhea Ripley, who will be defending her title against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36 taking place this weekend.
