Damian Priest says he's not going anywhere.
Damian Priest has become one of WWE's top stars in the past year-plus. He won the Money in the Bank match and cashed in his contract on Drew McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania XL. After a successful title run, Priest turned face and started feuding with The Judgment Day. He continues to gain momentum alongside Rhea Ripley.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Damian Priest commented on winning his first world title at 41.
“The world has changed. When they say my age out loud, it reminds me of, oh, wow, I actually am that age. But I don’t think that way, I don’t feel that way. Maybe it’s just because I’m immature [laughs]. But people are like, ‘Well, how many more years do you think you can do this?’ I’m like, I don’t know, a lot? Because I’m fine. Once I start getting stuff fixed [laughs], I’ll be even better. I’m not going anywhere," Priest said.
Van Vliet noted that, at this point, it must seem like life would only get better from here, and Priest agreed. He noted that he looked at his journey that way. Priest also highlighted the success of others who were older than him. He then said that his best years were still ahead.
“It’s gotta. That’s exactly the way I’m thinking. I’m not the first to do it. There’s guys way older than me that have been able to continuously have success, not just in wrestling but in anything that they set their minds to. So I feel like I’m good. I have a lot left in wrestling and just the entertainment business as a whole. I’m pretty confident that…I feel like my best years are still ahead," Priest said.
During the interview, Priest commented on landing a role in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' but the role being taken from him. Check out his comments here.
