Matt Riddle is coming to WWE SmackDown and Daniel Bryan is very excited to work with a fresh face.
Appearing on WWE Backstage, Bryan chatted with Renee Young and CM Punk about various talents he would like to do more with, both inside WWE and out.
"I get excited about people who look at wrestling differently," Bryan said about Riddle. "He looks at it from a completely different vantage point coming from the MMA perspective. I just like his style. I like the way he approaches wrestling, his attitude towards wrestling, his promos. He's very entertaining. He's going to add a lot to SmackDown. He's younger and he's fresh."
He continued, "Big E is the most entertaining guy. Every time I get in the ring with him, I'm like, 'How is this guy so good?' HE'S SO GOOD! Gran Metalik. We don't utilize him very well. Will Ospreay. How come I was never that athletic?"
CM Punk chimed in and said Ospreay would have fit in great with Punk, Bryan, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, etc... during the ROH days.
"I wrestled Zack Sabre Jr in like 2008," Bryan continued. "I was doing this very technical style and I thought I was pretty good at it. Zack Sabre Jr does it and he does it so much better than I ever did it. It's demoralizing, a little, but also inspiring. Keith Lee. Dominik Dijakovic. I would love to do six months of live events with him. He'd be so good. We have so many talented people that it's hard to utilize them all."
Bryan is currently set to face AJ Styles in the finals of the Intercontinental Title tournament this Friday on WWE SmackDown.
