Darius Martin underwent ACL surgery on the morning of Thursday, April 22. He last wrestled on AEW television on February 18.
During his time away, his brother Dante Martin has ascended up the AEW ranks, becoming a breakout tag team and singles star while his brother has been sidelined.
Speaking to Jon Alba on One-On-One (recorded after AEW Full Gear), Darius provided an update on his injury.
"I'm feeling pretty good, just moving around, taking it day by day, trying to get the clearance again, working my way up and building the strength again," he said. "You never want injuries, but I'm thankful it came at a time where I am fortunate enough to have this deal with AEW. AEW has been great to me during it. I really feel all the love and support from them. I've been fortunate enough to have that."
When asked how AEW has helped him, he replied, "I'm still on the road, they've still been paying me. I'm still lucky enough to have that job and financial security because of AEW. It's a great place and Tony Khan is an amazing boss who really values his employees and treats us like human beings. Tony is the best."
It is unknown when Darius will return to the ring.
Dante competed against MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at AEW Winter Is Coming. You can check out Fightful's full coverage of the AEW Winter is Coming by clicking here.
